Measurement of Cerebral Cortical Blood Flow in 30 Cats Using a Hydrogen Clearance Method

Abstract
Cerebral cortical blood flows in 30 cats under normal physiological condition were measured at the point of 1cm posterior to the coronal suture and 1cm lateral to the sagittal suture at specified intervals by hydrogen clearance technique. The cerebral blood flow measuring system was constituted of amplifier, position amplifier and recorder. The cerebral cortical blood flows of each interval in same side were statistically stable (P>0.1). The cerebral cortical blood flow of right side was 38.3 ¡¾ 7.3ml/min/100gm and that of left side was 40.4 ¡¾ 7.5ml/min/100gm, and there was no statistically significant difference between them (P>0.05). These results can do control group for further advancing blood flow study under specific modified physiological conditions.
